Sensory Friendly Nutcracker Usher and Show @ Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts (Downtown): Offered December 18th at 6pm (Usher arrive at 4:30pm)
DSG adults will get the opportunity to experience what it is like to work as an usher at the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts! This was a HUGE success last year with our teens and since they performed so well, they have asked us to come back, and we are inviting adults to usher as well! Teens and adults will work alongside one of the Kauffman Center ushers, gaining valuable work experience in a safe environment. Even if your adult isn't ready to be an usher, the whole family can still go to the event. We are currently looking for 30 more ushers.
Adults interested in being an usher and families who are chaperones or who are attending with an usher: Each usher must have a chaperone to stay near them during the usher part of the evening. This is for the safety of all involved. Email jessica@kcdsg.org and ask for the link to order an usher ticket. Usher tickets are discounted to $15 as DSG will pick up the other half of the ticket since the adults will be working part of the evening. These tickets are limited and are first come first serve. Family members chaperoning each usher can purchase additional tickets through DSG at $28 each. You may purchase tickets for any family members in your party through DSG. This is a big discount for the Kauffman Center, as tickets normally range in the $50+ range per seat.
Adults and families wishing to attend who do NOT have a teen usher in their party: Tickets cost around $28 each with fees and taxes. Big Discount! You will order your tickets through the Kauffman Center directly as they prefer to handle the ticket sales for this event. DSG will only handle the usher tickets since we are paying for half of the ticket. Please call: 816.931.8993 to reserve your tickets. They are first come first served and this sensory friendly event is only offered this one night.
